PEM® – SELF-CLINCHING FASTENERS

PEM® self-clinching fasteners are inserted in a hole in the workpiece. There the self-clinching fastener displaces the material in the region of the drill-hole. This material flows by cold-forming into a recess in the shank area of the fastener. A serration or a specially-shaped head now prevents the workpiece rotating – the self-clinching fastener becomes one with the workpiece. In addition, the PEM® self-clinching fasteners leave no damage or bulges behind on the back of the component.

  • Extremely stress-resistant even in thin sheets from 0.5 mm
  • No special treatment of the drill-hole needed
  • No reworking of the thread

Self-clinching nuts | PEM®

Self-clinching nuts have high twist- and pull-out resistance. They are available in various different shank lengths. Self-clinching nuts are suitable for metallic materials, in some cases even for use in stainless steel panels. The range of parts also includes nuts flush on both sides, closed parts, nuts with thread-locking as well as miniature designs. There is a parallel product line for insertion in PC boards.

Round self-clinching nuts | PEM®

Round self-clinching nuts are suitable for twist-resistant screw connections resilient from both sides in thin-walled workpieces. The designs of type RMHB were specially designed for use in restricted installation spaces as miniature designs. Unlike self-clinching nuts, the shank is riveted. For this reason, distance from the edge is a less-important criterion.

Self-clinching studs | PEM®

The self-clinching studs for through holes are flush on the head side after installation. Thus no additional flanging or welding is required.. Suitable for use in metallic materials, in some cases even for use in stainless steel panels. Heavy-duty stud designs with projecting head offer even better high twist- and pull-out resistance. Special studs for use in blind holes permit concealed installation.

Self-clinching standoffs for through holes are flush on the head side after installation. Thus no additional flanging or welding is required.. Available in open and closed design. Suitable for use in metallic materials, in some cases even for use in stainless steel panels. Twist-resistance is assured by the hexagon head. Special standoffs for use in blind holes permit concealed installation.
